This effect stacks if you continue to choose the same Champion, making their rewards harder to get. When you select a Champion, the next time they are available within a Time Gate, the target areas are increased by 50. However, you cannot earn the achievements for completing all three variants, or completing area 175 in Free Play, during Time Gate Events. You can earn the Event Achievements for recruiting the Champion, obtaining gear for each slot, and their ability-based achievement. These portals, or Time Gates as they were known, were powerful creations of magic that have become lost to time. Long ago, there were ways to travel through time within Toril.
You can also open them once you've collected 6 Time Gate Pieces. Natural Time Gates will be opened by Kaylaar approximately every 3 weeks and remain open for 72 hours. Next Scheduled Time Gates: December 13st, 2019 at Noon PST.
